I already have a blog where I keep all my creative work. My life is changing a lot at the moment and there are lots of issues, beliefs and such that I find myself musing for hours over. I've decided that it might be a good idea to write my musings down somewhere. I have no idea where this will go so it will be an adventure, an exciting one I hope.

We are all unique

"because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men." Romans
14:18. We can feel happy and fine about ourselves until we start comparing ourselves to others. Then things can change dramatically and the view we have of ourselves can turn into one where we think we are an awful mess. You really need to stop comparing yourself with other people: how you look compared to how they look, how long you pray compared to how long they pray, how often they prophesy compare to how often they prophesy. Likewise, you cannot compare your tribulation to someone else's tribulation. You cannot compare your suffering to someone else's suffering. Some situations may seem hard to you, but you cannot look at somebody else and say, 'Why is all this happening to me and everything always goes ok for you?'.

"For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome." Jeremiah 29:11. If you don't understand that God has an individual plan for your life, you will start to look around and compare yourself with other people and wondering what is so wrong with you that God helps others but doesn't appear to be giving you anything. There's no clear answer to this, we just have to believe above everything that God knows what He is doing. With that firm belief you can experience great peace."When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, "Lord, what about this man?" John 21:21. Just as we must ensure that we do not compare our gifts and talents with those of others, we must also not compare our trials and tribulations with other people. Jesus revealed to Peter ahead of time some of the suffering he would go through. Peter immediately tried to compare his suffering and his lot in life with somebody else's by saying, "What about this man?". Jesus said to him, "IF I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me." John 21:22. This is His answer to us too. We are not called to compare, but to comply.

"You shall not covet" Exodus 20:17. When you are having a tough time, never look at others and say, 'God why am I having such a hard time when others are so blessed?' This only brings torment because it is a sign of covetousness. When your brothers and sisters in Christ are blessed, be happy for them, and when they hurt, share their pain with them. But never ever compare yourself to others. Instead, trust in God and believe that he has a specialised, individual plan for your life. Be secure in the knowledge that no matter what is happening to you or how things may appear at the moment, God cares about you very much and will ensure that everything works out for the best.
