I already have a blog where I keep all my creative work. My life is changing a lot at the moment and there are lots of issues, beliefs and such that I find myself musing for hours over. I've decided that it might be a good idea to write my musings down somewhere. I have no idea where this will go so it will be an adventure, an exciting one I hope.

Devil in his Place

"Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." James 4:7

"Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of suffering." 1 Peter 5:8-9

As believers living under the New Covenant, we are taught that we have authority over the devil and demonic spirits. Resisting the devil at his onset is vital to victory over the enemy. The Bible teaches us how we can have domination over the devil. We can learn how to open the windows of heaven and close the gates of hell.

The words we speak are either a door to a blessing or to trouble. We may open a few wrong doors with our mouth so we need to learn how to close them quickly. Repentance and the application of the blood of Jesus by faith is the only way to close doors that have been opened to the devil such as the doors of strife, anger and unforgiveness. We need to learn to be quick to forgive; offence and strife are not things we can allow in our lives.

The door of compromise is the devil's favourite entrance by which he gradually draws us into sin that will have disastrous consequences.

The Bible teaches us the importance of keeping a soft and clean conscience. Without proper respect for our conscience, we will never enjoy authority over the devil.

Start doing what you know is right. Knowledge just laying dormant in your mind will achieve nothing for you. Obey the promptings of the Spirit and keep a clear conscience.
