I already have a blog where I keep all my creative work. My life is changing a lot at the moment and there are lots of issues, beliefs and such that I find myself musing for hours over. I've decided that it might be a good idea to write my musings down somewhere. I have no idea where this will go so it will be an adventure, an exciting one I hope.

Satan's Attitude

Satan wants us all to have an attitude which centres on self-dependency. This takes two forms which will both keep us from the will of God and also prevent us from operating in the power available to us as God's children. Both attitudes come from the belief that our worth is based on self and not on God. A prideful, self-reliant, self-confident, self-dependent attitude says that you can handle everything in your life without God's help. Many of us would deny having this attitude. We will say that we need God but our subtle actions show that we feel that we don't actually need God. As true believers we should not be self-confident but God-confident. The Bible repeatedly says that we are not to have confidence in ourselves. Instead, we are to have confidence in God, that he will work through us. The second attitude pushed on us by the devil is one of self-condemnation. People get angry with themselves over their mistakes and faults. They hate themselves and think they are useless and worthless. Some people think too highly of themselves and others think too lowly of themselves. Many people dislike the way they look. They think that they are unattractive when in fact it is the devil lying to them convincing them that they are ugly. The devil is a liar and he uses deception as a weapon to try to keep us from seeing what we truly are and what God has for us. He badly wants to keep us from fully enjoying the life God has for us and diminish our destroy our effectiveness for God. "You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies." John 8:44
