I already have a blog where I keep all my creative work. My life is changing a lot at the moment and there are lots of issues, beliefs and such that I find myself musing for hours over. I've decided that it might be a good idea to write my musings down somewhere. I have no idea where this will go so it will be an adventure, an exciting one I hope.

Trust in the Lord

What does it really mean to trust in the Lord?

Revelation 4:11 - " You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honour and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being." - A big part of trusting your God is recognising that he is your creator. God is our creator, he created all things.

Ephesians 3:17 - "
so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love," - If you trust in the Lord and allow him to he will come and live inside your heart. From that point on God will be with you wherever the walk of life takes you, keeping you strong and encouraging you along the way. We all need that and who is better to receive it from that God our saviour. Putting your trust in God is a long term process based on having and developing a personal relationship with him and that can only be achieved through constantly living and breathing the Word. It's like a talent, it has to be finely honed, tweaked and such until you find the right balance and achieve what you perceive to be success.

Genesis 6:14 - "  So make yourself an ark of cypress
wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out." - God was angry. He asked Noah to build a boat, not just any boat but a large one with lots of sturdy features with lots of storage space. This was after confiding in Noah that he, God, was planning to put an end to the world as he was very displeased at the amount of evil, violence and corruption occurring. Noah is given an explanation as to God's command but that was not necessary in order for Noah to trust in his Lord. If God commands you to do something, it is expected that you will obey that command and without necessarily understanding the purpose of the command. The command may be enormous, like Noah's boat, it still has to be done. This is where you put your trust in God.

At certain times in your life God may command you to do something which may seem to totally go against your lifestyle or cause big upheaval for you or others. These are the hardest yet most powerful times when you and God find out for sure if you really do trust in him.

Romans 3:22: - "This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe." - If you put your trust in God then that additionally means that you depend solely upon Christ for your salvation.
