I already have a blog where I keep all my creative work. My life is changing a lot at the moment and there are lots of issues, beliefs and such that I find myself musing for hours over. I've decided that it might be a good idea to write my musings down somewhere. I have no idea where this will go so it will be an adventure, an exciting one I hope.

The Winds of Change

Mark 4:20 - "Others, like seed sown on good soil, hear the word, accept it, and produce a crop, thirty, sixty or even a hundred times what was sown."

Acts 3:19 - "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,"

James 1:17 - "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows."

In a rather ironic way, change is a great constant in all of our lives. Change happens to everything and everyone. Change can be caused by very complex matters, and also due to a more simplistic reason.

People, job, technology, relationships - they all change. Some people describe life itself as a process of continual change. Change can be for the good or otherwise. Negative could be job loss, death, natural disaster. Good could be a marriage, a new house or a financial gain. These exemplar changes are of a general viewpoint and individual opinions may vary, ie having to move into another house may be the worst change possible for some. Either way, change can be stressful.

The Bible teaches us two truths about change. The first is that despite the world continually changing around us, God is changeless and dependable. The second is that God calls for an inner change of heart - repentance, that produces an outward change of lifestyle - obedience. When you change your heart, you will change your life forever!

Lamentations 5:19 - "You, O Lord, reign for ever; your throne endures from generation to generation."

Hebrews 13:8 - "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."

Whilst our lives are ever changing, God's character is unchanging and therefore totally reliable and dependable on. No matter how your life changes, God will remain constant. He will be with you through it all and you can always count on him to help, guide and care for you.

Take comfort and strength from God and his never changing Word!!!
