I already have a blog where I keep all my creative work. My life is changing a lot at the moment and there are lots of issues, beliefs and such that I find myself musing for hours over. I've decided that it might be a good idea to write my musings down somewhere. I have no idea where this will go so it will be an adventure, an exciting one I hope.

Troubles V Opportunities

Job 17:9 - "Nevertheless, the righteous will hold to their ways, and those with clean hands will grow stronger."

Luke 4:1-2 - "Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the desert, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry."

I think that pretty much all of us have times in our lives when things get on top of us and everything seems too much to handle. You may feel that there is no way out and no way to overcome your circumstances. Throughout your entire life you will be confronted with immense obstacles and seemingly invincible enemies.

However, as a follower of Christ there is nothing which you cannot overcome. God has given you his presence - the Holy Spirit, to help you win the battles and fight the temptations in your life. This does not mean that a situation which arises will be immediately taken from God's hands. Au contraire, God will help you find the tools you need to sort the situation out yourself.

God's presence does not mean that suffering will not take place for you. The presence of the Holy Spirit did not stop even Jesus from being tempted, however, it helped him to overcome those temptations.

Troubles and worries are part and parcel of living here on this earth, but so is the power that is instilled inside of you to help you combat them.

You need to be at a certain point in your life spiritually to let the Holy Spirit come and work inside of you. And only at that point will the Holy Spirit help you to start overcoming your troubles. You may think that you want the presence of the Holy Spirit in you, to help you, but this will only happen once you have submitted yourself to the Lord.

Once you begin to see these obstacles placed in your path as opportunities for God to show you his power, they will not seem so overwhelming and frightening. You can boldly stand knowing that with the Holy Spirit inside of you, there is nothing that cannot be overcome.

Put your trust in the Lord and turn a negative into a positive!!!
