I already have a blog where I keep all my creative work. My life is changing a lot at the moment and there are lots of issues, beliefs and such that I find myself musing for hours over. I've decided that it might be a good idea to write my musings down somewhere. I have no idea where this will go so it will be an adventure, an exciting one I hope.

Eternal Life

Ecclesiastes 3:11 - "He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end."

1 Corinthians 2:9 - "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.

King Solomon wrote that God has planted eternity in the human heart. This means that innately you know that there is more than just this life. Because you were created in God's image, you have eternal value and nothing but the eternal God can truly satisfy the desires of your heart. No matter what you become involved in, in your life nothing will fill your heart like God does. For He built into you a restless yearning for a perfect world that can only be found in heaven.

God does however give us a glimpse of that world; we just have to look at the amazing beauty around us, in nature and in people. One day God will restore earth to its former beauty, how it was when he first created it. Eternity will be an eternal exploration of earth's awesome beauty and of the perfect relationship that you will have with God.

2 Corinthians 5:1 - "Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands."

Revelation 21:3-4 - "And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 'Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.'"

Eternal life does not mean that this earthly life continues infinitely. God promises something new. You will live in the world you long for, one without evil and suffering. You will live forever in God's presence, forever filled with joy.

Are there clouds and harps in heaven?

Probably! But an indescribable amount of other awesomeness too!
