I already have a blog where I keep all my creative work. My life is changing a lot at the moment and there are lots of issues, beliefs and such that I find myself musing for hours over. I've decided that it might be a good idea to write my musings down somewhere. I have no idea where this will go so it will be an adventure, an exciting one I hope.

Looking for God

1 Chronicles 28:9 - "If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever."

Psalm 145:18 - "The Lord is near to all who call on him, and to all who call on him in truth."

James 4:8 - "Come near to God and he will come near to you."

Humans are naturally sociable and like to communicate and forge bonds with others. When you have close friends, you do your best to stay in touch with them and keep the friendship fresh. You talk almost every day. One day you might phone them, then the next day they will phone you. You might go out and do things together which you both enjoy or sit at home chatting, gossiping and reminiscing.

A relationship with God is no different. It requires effort, pursuit, frequent contact and memories. When you are developing a relationship with God, you need to try to talk to him on a daily basis. Speak openly and honestly, just as you would with any of your other friends. Then, take time to listen to what he has to say.

Set aside a period each day for you to have some quality time with God. During this time you can express your worries, talk about your future and remember ways that he has been with you and helped you in the past. Also ask God what he is doing, around the world and in your life.

Read the Bible daily to open yourself up to what God may be saying to you. Remember that God is with you all day, everyday; talk to him about anything that happens in your day to day life.

As you get to know him by being with him each day, you will begin to build memories with him and gain the relationship you are looking for. God promises that if you search, you will find him.

Shall we go a hunting???
