I already have a blog where I keep all my creative work. My life is changing a lot at the moment and there are lots of issues, beliefs and such that I find myself musing for hours over. I've decided that it might be a good idea to write my musings down somewhere. I have no idea where this will go so it will be an adventure, an exciting one I hope.

Money matters - or does it?

Matthew 6:21 - "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

There are many mentions of rich people in the Bible, David and Abraham being two of those. These people were both wealthy and also loved God. There is nothing derogatory said in the Bible about the amount of wealth these people had. Instead, it focuses on what you do with the money you have, regardless of whether you have a lot or just a little.

As verse 21 says, where your money goes, your heart will follow. If you put your money to good use, you will have a happy feeling in your heart. It is good to work hard to earn money but it is equally important that you find ways to use your money which will please God.

Psalm 23:1 - "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want."

Some people find themselves entering a spiral of greed, selfishness and dishonesty - all traits are worthy to be condemned. We need to remind ourselves that it is God who must come first in our lives, not money. Money will never ever satisfy your deepest needs. Jesus will.

Deuteronomy 8:18 - "But remember the Lord your God for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today."

Wealth, riches and financial prosperity should not be your goals in life. They are not healthy neither are they clear signs of God's blessing. There are many, many people in the world who are rich beyond compare but they don't have a penny to share between them. These people have been blessed with prosperity from God which has been received with gratitude and humility. These people would never, ever dream of exchanging what they have for material wealth.

Hebrews 13:5 - "Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have," - Money is not the root of all evil - it's the LOVE of money that is!

Proverbs 19:1 - "Better a poor man whose walk is blameless than a fool whose lips are perverse." - It is much better to be a poor and honest than to be a dishonest fool. No amount of money is worth deception or dishonesty. These will destroy your soul, and is it really worth gaining wealth if you lose your soul is the process?

IS IT???
