I already have a blog where I keep all my creative work. My life is changing a lot at the moment and there are lots of issues, beliefs and such that I find myself musing for hours over. I've decided that it might be a good idea to write my musings down somewhere. I have no idea where this will go so it will be an adventure, an exciting one I hope.

Reconciling with God

2 Corinthians 5:18-21 - "All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."

The Bible teaches us that you, along with every other person, were born with a sinful nature and that it is sin which separates you from God.

If you want a personal relationship with God, you must first be reconciled with him, which means that the damage in the relationship that you have with him will be repaired so that you can be on friendly terms with him. Reconciliation begins with you recognising that without the work that Jesus Christ did on the cross, you cannot approach God. Jesus took the punishment for your sins on the cross so that you can go to God, as a friend, not as an enemy. When you accept God's gift of bridging this gap, you are reconciled with him and can begin to develop a relationship with him. This is the greatest gift ever offered, and it is the only way to be reconciled with God.

Reconciliation with anyone is only possible when someone makes the first move: a phone call, a text or a word spoken in forgiveness. In the same way, the relationship between God and the people he created was broken in the Garden of Eden, when sin caused an un-crossable chasm that separates humans from God, and someone had to make the first move. Even though it is humans who need to be reconciled, it is God who made the first move. God extended not only his hand and words, but his one and only son, Jesus Christ to bridge the chasm between himself and his people.

That is how awesome your God is!!!
