I already have a blog where I keep all my creative work. My life is changing a lot at the moment and there are lots of issues, beliefs and such that I find myself musing for hours over. I've decided that it might be a good idea to write my musings down somewhere. I have no idea where this will go so it will be an adventure, an exciting one I hope.

Humility

Philippians 2:5-8 - "Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death, even on a cross!"

True humility results from understanding who you are and who God is. Humility allows you to serve wherever God places you and to do whatever he asks of you with no disobedience.

Patients, either inpatient or outpatient who regain their health are generally more humble people as they realise their vulnerability. Likewise, you are humbled when you realise that God healed your soul and you realise your complete dependence on him. At this moment you become happy to serve God in any way that he asks.

Matthew 18:4 - "Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."

Humility is a true strength because it effects reach right into the kingdom of heaven. Whereas pride is true weakness and reaches no further than your own ego!!!

James 4:6-10 - "But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: 'God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble'. Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up."

Humility is essential to recognising the sin in your life. Whereas pride gives the devil the key to your heart, humility gives God the key, which is something which we should all desire. Pride is replaced with the humility that comes from godly sorrow for sin.

Open your heart and admit that you need God in your life and seek his forgiveness. An act that only a person with humility can do. No proud person can do this.

Humble yourself!!!
