I already have a blog where I keep all my creative work. My life is changing a lot at the moment and there are lots of issues, beliefs and such that I find myself musing for hours over. I've decided that it might be a good idea to write my musings down somewhere. I have no idea where this will go so it will be an adventure, an exciting one I hope.

Giving and Receiving

God said that the overburdened will have rest. He has a high standard for our lives but knows that we need rest to restock. As long as you make an effort everyday to learn about God then he will be pleased.

God enjoys you in your imperfect state. We are all imperfect and God loves that, he loves the imperfections and flaws, the ones that we find ourselves getting upset about. Personality flaws can be recognised, corrected and moved on from and God wants to be part of that process. For example, at times we feel so lonely and pitiful at times, we run ourselves down and believe we are a screwed up mess and do not see how God can use us. But we need to let go of that and let God see that we can be used for a good purpose so that you can see a better you. The Holy Spirit will encourage you to leave your sin behind so that God can forgive you. You may have a beautiful heart but if you do not use it the right way then nothing good will come of it. Focus on your heart and it's qualities and let him shine.

Ephesians 2:8-9 - "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast." - Once you realise that God is love and that he loves us all no matter what then we reach a key moment in our faith. There is nothing you can do to make God love you more and there is nothing you can do to make him love you less. He loves us from before we were born right through to eternity.

Ephesians 2:10 - " For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." - We are recreated in Christ so that we can do the things which God has planned for us to do. Christ is the one true free gift you receive in your life - make the most of Him!

Reading the Bible alone is not enough. The Bible needs to be thoroughly studied, torn apart, understood and put into practice on a daily basis.

When you embark on a venture in life, small or large, it should be because you want to give, not receive. Don't get into anything to get, get into things in order to give. Don't serve God from a 'get, get, get attitude.' Take your time learning how to love Jesus by meditating on the Word, then share the love by giving, giving, and more giving. By taking on a giving culture you will find that you will receive far more. Unless you come to the Kingdom like a child and receive God's forgiveness and mercy then you will never truly learn to give and receive. Make the decision to start receiving from God and stop receiving from the devil.

Romans 3:23-24 - "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,  and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." - It can be hard to receive grace and mercy but once receipt of grace is achieved then our sins are forgiven. Because of Adam we all received condemnation and sin and we accepted that with no quibble. So why can we not receive grace, mercy, love from God with as much or even more ease as surely that is more desirable?

We need to learn how to receive from God and always be open to what he wants to do in our lives.
