I already have a blog where I keep all my creative work. My life is changing a lot at the moment and there are lots of issues, beliefs and such that I find myself musing for hours over. I've decided that it might be a good idea to write my musings down somewhere. I have no idea where this will go so it will be an adventure, an exciting one I hope.

Expect to hear God

Through Jesus and the Holy Spirit, God wants to speak to you as an individual every day of your life. God cares about even the smallest details of your life and he wants to lead you to the good things he has in store for you. He cares about the desires of your hear and he wants to reveal the truth to you that will set you free from worry and fear. God's plan to share an intimate relationship with you existed before you were even born.

In the book of Acts, the apostle Paul said of God, "From one man he made every nation of men that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times and set them and the exact places where they should live." God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.

On a simple level of common sense, if God knows every detail of our mapped out life before we were born, then surely it is important to learn how to hear from Him?

In Matthew 7:13-14 Jesus spoke of there being a 'narrow path' that leads us to a life, and a 'broad path' that leads to destruction. We are wisely told to stay on the narrow path. If we can discern God's voice, we can know if we are veering off onto the wrong track and correct our path before we reap any bad results.

Hearing God's voice each day is a regular way of life for many, since the moment they received the fullness of the Holy Spirit whom Jesus promised to send us. God will give the gift of his Spirit to all who ask for him (Luke 11:13), and then the Holy Spirit will help us to understand the Bible so that we will know how to apply its wisdom to our lives.
